Here are some simple pre school activities and facts to bring out during a preschool about me theme.
-parts of our bodies include, toes, feet, ankles, legs, knees, elbows, arms, wrists, fingers, hands, stomach, chest, back, bottom, neck, face, and head
-on our face we have eyes, ears, mouth and nose
-we can see with our eyes, hear with our ears, taste with our mouth, smell with our nose and feel with our fingers/hands
-we can jump with our legs, flap our arms like a bird, and turn our head from side to side
-we can make funny faces with our face, and wiggle our whole body around at once
-we can dance with our bodies (play music that the children can dance to)
-my voice sound like this (have the children sing a song like ABC’s or Twinkle Little Star
- I have feelings (sad, mad, happy, scared, surprised)
-have the children fill in the blanks (when I am sad I____, when I am scared I_____ etc.)
-talk about laughing and how it is a happy feeling, we laugh when we think something is funny, laughing is a happy sound
-get large pieces of paper that are large enough for the children to lie on and outline their bodies in marker
-give the children a variety of markers and crayons to work with so they can draw themselves using their drawn outline and then post them around the room
-have books, and pictures related to theme and people toys in the toy centre with some sort of house to play with them in
-do a house centre for the dramatic play area and you will find that the children may start to role play things from home
-sing head and shoulders knees and toes
