Preschool Movement Activities - Old MacDonald Had A Farm

Here's another great creative movement activity for preschool children using some fun educational kid's music.

You could use the children's song 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' and let the preschoolers pretend to be working on a farm. Children can pretend to be different animals that they might expect to see on a farm like chickens, horses, cows, pigs etc.

The preschool children can move around like the various farm workers or farm animals making animal noises and trying to imitate the animals on a farm. Some children may just dance around to the music or just move around expressing themselves.

*There are no right or wrong ways for the kids to participate in these creative movement activities - just allow them to express themselves to the music.

Preschool Movement for Kids using Classical Music:

You could also just play 'Classical Music' for the preschool children in your classroom or home daycare and let them move around to the music however they feel. This activity could be done outside as well & is great physical activity for the children.

Streamers could be used to let kids really get moving their arms to the music. Obviously you want to be careful to have plenty of space so that kids are not hitting eachother while using the streamers etc. Let the preschool children spread out and move freely to the music.
