Preschool Lesson Plan Theme - Animal Theme For Teaching Children

Pre K Animal Theme

Preschool Animal themes are basically pretty simple.  Preschool children learn a lot about animals from having pets, zoos and from television shows etc. This prek theme will have some basic ideas but you can expand on them as you like.

-talk about different types of common animals: dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, squirrels, guinea pigs, chipmunks, mice, birds, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, donkeys, etc.

-have pictures, books, toys, puzzles related to animals

-talk about where they live, what they eat, and what they sound like

-a famous great song to sing is Old MacDonald Had A Farm (ei ei Oh!)

Examples of Simple Theme Details:

Dog (eats dog food, chews bones, plays fetch, barks, drinks water)

Horse (eats hay, carrots, apples, gallops, neighs, drinks water)

Chipmunk (eats nuts, stores nuts in cheeks, very fast runners, squeak, drinks water)

*You will find this preschool animal theme to come naturally to the children and they will do a lot of the talking and exploring.  This pre k animal theme is one of the easier themes to teach your preschool class or children and is great for learning.
